Every gift makes a ripple
Cost should never be the reason someone walks away from their dreams. Too many students are forced to delay—or abandon—their education because of financial pressures. We’re working to change that at VIU. Our goal is to raise $2 million for student scholarships, awards and bursaries by Spring 2027.
Education transforms lives and strengthens communities. When you support VIU students, you strengthen the future of Vancouver Island and the coastal communities we call home. No matter how big or small, every gift creates ripples of impact far beyond one student, one semester or one moment in time.
Make your ripple today.
Help students prepare for the future
Scholarships, awards and bursaries make it possible for students to concentrate on their studies. The impact of the awards Christina Gustafson received will be felt for years to come in the community she serves.
“Having this support means I will have more time to study and consolidate my nursing skills as I prepare to enter the profession as a new graduate nurse. Awards such as these are what allow me to put more time and energy toward being the best nurse I can be."

Join us in removing barriers to education
This year, 2,400 students applied for bursaries based on financial need. Only 1467 bursaries were available.
That’s more than 900 opportunities for you to make a positive impact.
Behind those numbers are students working two jobs to stay in school. Students supporting family while trying to earn a credential. Students with the talent and determination to do great things in our community. We need to ensure they have the financial support to keep going.
