Karen Chorley Hopper Memorial Fund

Karen Chorley Hopper (nee Gardiner) had a passion for learning and discovery surpassed only by her love of family. Throughout her life, Karen never missed an opportunity to expand her knowledge in all areas. As a young woman, she was one of only a handful of women to graduate with a Bachelor of Science from the then newly degree granting University of Victoria.

An innate and skilled educator, Karen sought out opportunities to inspire curiosity and awe in others, especially children, through her many volunteer activities. As her children would later note, no walk was ever just a walk with Mom. They were adventures through history, culture and the natural world with an engaging tour guide.

Her love of learning and of our beautiful Island has inspired the creation of the Karen Chorley Hopper Memorial Fund to help others in their educational journey.

Many thanks to all who contribute to this fund.

Ron, Keith, Chantelle and Deborah
